5 Minutes With Melissa Allen Mood Essentials Founder

Melissa Allen, Founder & Director Melissa Allen Mood Essentials reveals the inspiration behind her range and the power of scent.

I launched my signature brand of scents because…
“I’ve always loved fragrance and learnt how fragrance can also help boost our mood to live our best possible life. As I believe everyone, no matter who you are or what your background is deserves to be happy and enjoy life.”

I love beauty because…
“It allows for self-expression, boosts confidence, promotes self-care, helps stimulate creativity.”

Next year I plan to…
“Keep moving forward both in business and life in general and not to forget to have fun along the way.”

The biggest lesson I have learnt when launching the range is…
“Understand your customer’s needs. I also learnt that success doesn’t happen overnight, it’s a journey, to stay committed, focused and resilient.”

I would tell this to my younger self….
“Embrace your authenticity, embrace your true self. Don’t’ waste time try to fit into someone’s else mold or approval from others. Trust yourself and believe in your abilities to step out of your comfort zone to pursue your dreams and aspirations. Surrounding yourself with positive, supportive and uplifting people will bring joy and laughter to your journey.”

Three words that sum me up…
“Fun, Determined and Passionate.”

My favourite can’t live without product is…
“Fragrance, of course!”

I believe in the power of fragrance because. . .
“It has the ability to impact our mood and emotions, trigger memories and can help our well-being. Fragrance has a unique way of tapping into our olfactory system. Fragrance also plays a significant role in personal expression and identity. The scents we choose to wear or surround ourselves with can become part of our unique signature.”

For me it’s important to be Australian Made because…
“Australian made allows a sense of connection and pride in the local community. It strengthens the bond between producers and consumers, fostering a sense of shared identity and supporting the unique character of Australian industries. It also helps to generate employment opportunities for fellow Australians and helps to keep money circulating within the local community.”
