Entries into the 2024 Australian Beauty & Cosmetic Tattoo Awards (ABACTA) are set to close next week. Entrants have until 9pm AEST Tuesday April 30 2024.
Over 30 awards are up for grabs across four major categories, including – beauty, cosmetic tattoo, business & growth, and SMP & medical tattoo.
Entrants are required to provide evidence of their work via photographs and/or documentation, as well as answer a series of category-specific questions.
According to the ABACTA website, judges are looking to crown entries that – excite, engage, and are unique, include quality photographs, showcase real results, provide clear and articulate answers, and demonstrate a passion and enthusiasm for the industry. Entrants are required to pay a fee starting at $99 to enter.

Winners will be announced at Water’s Edge Event Centre in Portside, Brisbane on Saturday July 20 2024. Tickets to attend the event are available now.
The award ceremony will be ABACTA’s third event, having taken a brief hiatus following the pandemic. Co-owners June Warry and Nicole Prance told Professional Beauty, “ABACTA is the only awards program in Australia that recognises each individual category in the cosmetic tattooing, beauty and skin sectors.”
“2020 certainly brought challenging times to our industry, and this was the main reason for ABACTA to be founded as we were looking to uplift and bring much needed positivity to our industry.”
The duo said ABACTA is “growing year-on-year”, with its 2021 Gold Coast-based event having sold out with 150 attendees. A total of 250 attendees are expected at this year’s event.
June and Nicole are also the founders of other industry events, such as Permanent Cosmetic Culture (PCC). “[We] are passionate about creating inclusive, fun and educational events that are guaranteed to level up your business and network,” they said.
“We warmly welcome you to be your own best cheerleader and self-nominate to give your brand the recognition it deserves! Our awards are judged blindly and are judged by industry professionals from all around the world in order to give a fair and unbiased overview on each category.”
