Adorn now offers product refills to support their sustainable packaging practices. In doing so, unnecessary landfill can be reduced as well as providing value-for-money for consumers. Adorn employs a less-is-more approach to packaging, educating the market in what has been excessive practices by the industry, and encouraging customers to recycle packaging and containers. Founder and Director Briony Kennedy, launched her mineral cosmetics brand in 2009 to provide an end to end cosmetics range that was not just about all natural ingredients, but a commitment to sustainable production, distribution and waste. For those that do re-order the full packaged product however, there is the Adorn recycling program. Containers and pots can be returned to Adorn, who send on all waste to be produced into fencing posts used by the agricultural industry.
In addition to refills, customers can now purchase colour samples to ensure full satisfaction of their choices; this is aimed to build consumer confidence in purchasing cosmetics online; a trend that is also set to increase over the next few years. Customers will be able to check for colour correctness and texture before ordering the full product, eliminating the likelihood of unused products in the bathroom.
