Goldwell and Napoleon Perdis for Rachel Gilbert at RAFW

Rachel Gilbert’s ‘Blinding Measures’ spring/summer 2011/12 collection was brought to life with a relaxed bohemian 70s look by Goldwell’s lead stylist Ivan Chircop from Christopher Hanna hair, and effortless make-up by Napoleon Perdis.

Featuring talented violinist Jane Cho and DJ Simon Pongrass, Gilbert celebrated the female form with luxurious fabrics and embellished hand-beaded evening gowns.

Each piece celebrated a fresh sorbet palette of crisp whites, citrus limes and apricot accents, balanced by neutral undertones.

“The look that I created for the runway this year was inspired by the 70s bohemian hippie look that created a bit of an untidy edge to the glamorous outfits,” said Chircop.

Napoleon Perdis used the three 'Kate’s' – Kate Boswell, Kate Moss and Kate Beckinsale as inspiration for the make-up palette.

“(The make-up is) effortless, languid, and almost indifferent with a focus on the eyes and cheeks,” Perdis said.

If you adore the wispy, unstructured ponytail look, Goldwell can help you get the look:

Step 1: Middle part the front of the hair, then backcomb and add volume using Goldwell Stylesign Jelly Boost Spray Gel. Finish style with Goldwell Style Fix Hair Lacquer Medium Hold Hairspray to the sides of the hair.

Step 2: Back section from ear to ear in a ponytail adding Goldwell Style Sign Structure Me to create body and movement to the hair, topsy tail the pony inwards.

Step 3: Brush the sides and gather into another ponytail on top of the first one at the back with the sides covering the ears to the length of a bob. Topsy tail the second pony tail into the first and tie together into a long ponytail.

Step 4: Apply Goldwell’s Style Fix Medium Hold Hairspray to hold the front part of the style and use Goldwell Style Sign Flat Marvel Straightening Balm for the back pony to finish.
