Lady Lashees head north

Five lash stylists from Sydney’s Lady Lash salon have qualified for the finals of The Sunshine Pro-Series Lash competition at this month’s Brisbane Hair and Beauty Expo.

“Chosen from hundreds of entries”, Jasmine Lim, Faye Jiang, Katy Chen, Rachel Lee and Mei-Ling Lai,  will compete in various styles and divisions at the competition which attracts entrants from around Australia and overseas.

Finalists will be judged on the cleanness of their work, coverage of lashes, styling, symmetry, application, technique and overall look.

Lady Lash director Charlotte Creasey says she is delighted that five Lady Lash technicians had made it to the final stage of the competition.

“I know all the stylists put in a huge amount of effort into their entries –  they spent hours applying lash extensions as flawlessly as possible to their selected ‘models’, and then more taking photographs of their work to submit to the competition.”

She says that irrespective of the stylists’ placings in the competition, “they will do us proud” as the “competition won’t be easy”.

“This will be our third consecutive year of competing at the finals, so we know the standard of competition is going to be very high.

“It’s a very high-pressure environment and it’s easy to crumble!”

Lady Lash employees placed 3rd in two categories in the 2018 competition, and 2nd and 3rd place in one category in 2017.

The live finals will be held at the Brisbane Hair and Beauty Expo on July 28-29.

The competition will be judged by 15 international Lash Masters including Competition director Joy Crossingham (Lash Joy), Trina Dial Horne (Maven Artistry, US), Otto Mitter (Elleebana), Miranda Tarpey (UK Lash Institute) and Mariko Matsumoto (Marie Rush Lash, Japan).
