Aspa Spas of Excellence Awards 2011

The winners of the Aspa Spas of Excellence Awards 2011 have been announced at a Gala Dinner event in Noosa, hosted by the Australasian Spa Association in conjunction with their 2-day annual conference.

Each year the Australasian Spa Association conducts the only awards of its kind in the region – awarding spas in various categories and their suppliers with the prestigious title of “Spa of Excellence”.

The stunning surroundings of Noosa Beach, played host to a night of live entertainment, fine food, networking and celebrations as each winner was announced.

“The Australasian spa industry is rapidly evolving, and each year we are excited by an increase in the level of quality nominations in each category. The standard of spa in Australasia is second-to-none we believe, and the fine nominations are a true example of this,” said Aspa President, Nicole Wells.

With over 80 representatives of the spa industry in attendance at the formal event, which was sponsored by skincare range La Gaia, Australia, New Zealand and Fiji all had attendees. Included within the list of proud winners were spas from as far afield as Fiji – with Bebe Spa at the Outrigger taking the trophy in their category the first year they joined the Association.

Following a rigorous judging process, which included an online application followed by secret shopping for the finalists, the winners of the Aspa Spas of Excellence Awards for 2011 were announced by Aspa President, Nikki Wells, and Board Member, Kris Abbey.

For the first time in the history of the awards there was a draw between two spas in one category. “Best Medi Spa is a category we introduced to the Awards this year as we have more and more popping up around the region each day. So, given it was the first year of the introduction of the medi-spa category, it was exciting that we actually could announce not one, but two sensational spas as winners!” said Nikki.

Each spa was awarded a crystal trophy, and has the honour of being the finest in their category in the region of Australasia. Aspa is Australasia’s only dedicated spa association offering support and resources to spas and suppliers throughout Australia, New Zealand, Fiji, Vanuatu.
