Cosmoprof Asia survey bodes well for 2010

Cosmoprof Asia 2009 attracted a record 1,412 exhibitors from 39 countries (up 4 per cent from 2008), and 41,062 visitors from 100 countries and regions (a 4 per cent increase). Event organisers say that for a recessionary year, these figures are evidence that the event’s importance to the global beauty industry has been magnified.

In light of these statistics, Cosmoprof Asia conducted surveys among exhibitors and visitors to the 2009 show, and have concluded that 2010 will be another successful year for the event.

More than 76 per cent of exhibitors stated their satisfaction with the business opportunities provided by the show and more than 70 per cent expressed overall satisfaction with visitor traffic and quality. Based on these results, the intention to return to Cosmoprof Asia in 2010 is decidedly high, involving three-quarters of the respondents.

More than 75 per cent of visitors stated that their main purpose for visiting is to discover the latest innovations and technologies and to find new suppliers. The opportunity offered by the show to be updated on industry knowledge is also considered an important aspect when deciding to attend Cosmoprof Asia.

Both exhibitor and visitors rate Cosmoprof Asia as the most important beauty business hub for Asia and acknowledge the Cosmoprof international network of shows as their main trade show destinations around the world.

The expanded show floor area of over 52,000 sqm will again host the many pavilion organisers who have already confirmed their participation in Cosmoprof Asia 2010. These include Australia, Mainland China, France, Germany, Hong Kong, Israel, Italy, Japan, Korea, Singapore, South Africa, Spain, Switzerland, Taiwan, Thailand, UK and USA. For event organisers, this testifies to the importance of the show and the strength of the Asian market within the beauty and wellness industry.

High-end educational opportunities will be presented by industry experts and a Natural Health sector will offer the perfect combination for the health and beauty industry.

The 5th International Buyers Program is already in full swing. Launched in 2007, the program was designed to bring prestigious buyer delegations from major Asia Pacific countries and beyond, looking for new products and global trends and match them with suitable exhibitors. Cosmoprof Asia is already receiving many enrolment requests from both exhibitors and buyers eager to be part of this tailor-made service.

Cosmoprof Asia will celebrate its 15th anniversary in 2010, with many new initiatives for each of the various sectors represented on the show floor. The rich onsite event program will give exhibitors many new opportunities to enhance their image and build brand awareness.

Cosmoprof Asia 2010 takes place from 10 to 12 November 2010 at Hong Kong Convention & Exhibition Centre. For more information (and free registration for trade visitors), log onto www.cosmoprof-asia.com
