Accolades and appointments for Make-up Business

Australian distributor for Classified Cosmetics, The Make-up Business, has appointed Eloise Thorpe as its exclusive Queensland agent.

Thorpe (pictured), has more than ten years’ experience as a make-up artist, and is a skilled camouflage aesthetician. Thorpe will represent ERA Spray Make-up, and the new Aero Minerale range throughout Queensland. She has also been nominated for an ABIA (Australian Bridal Industry Academy) award this year for her bridal work.

Meanwhile, Karen Playel, director of the Make-up Business, has been nominated in the 2010 Telstra Business Women's Awards, for her work in the area of camouflage make-up. As the importer of ERA Spray Make-up, Playel offers a specialised service in Sydney. Many dermatologists and physicians refer patients to her for advice on coverage for skin conditions and scarring. She works closely with burns units in the major hospitals, attending their family camps and holding workshops.

“It was a total surprise to be nominated. It’s lovely for others to acknowledge the work you are doing and the impact it can have on people’s lives,” said Playel.
