The salon’s unique approach to colour combined with an extensive repertoire of techniques delivers colour that’s perfectly matched to each client's individual requirements. The creative team say, “We make our clients look as good as possible then the next time they see us it could be a different season and they’re wearing different clothes and makeup but you can keep it fresh and make it work for them. We are into age appropriate hair which means a fifty year old, beautiful mature woman doesn’t want something that a 20 or even 30 year old does. It’s a gift to make people’s hair look natural and not coloured.”
Masters' of bespoke colouring techniques, their interests lie in developing techniques with their latest being Riviera Lights: “Our muse for Riviera Lights is a woman spending time on the beach in the French Riviera and instead of having this over-bleached, blown-out colour, she has creamy, conditioned hair which is very glamorous and refined, but at the same time fun and girly. Our vision is the hair colour around the whole perimeter area is lifted and consistent so the hair looks beautiful at all angles. When she lets her hair down she has this beautiful softness coming from the outside. For those with shorter hair we also do a half-head of Riviera Lights which is a different technique. The hair is sun kissed on the tips and still involves being softened.”

DARIO Salon is a big fan of Victoria Secrets hair and getting hair back to it's most beautiful simplicity. “We think Balayage has gone too far on some people. The technique has trickled down to those who aren’t as experienced and it often doesn’t look as good. It’s been so trendy and over-exposed. Riviera Lights offers a more stunning, natural look and is glamorous and pretty.”
Riviera Lights involves a number of techniques but can work on most hair colours and is not just for blondes; someone with red hair could experience this and a deep brunette on some level. Everything is very bespoke and linked to one’s natural tones and colouring; whether it’s down to their eye colour, hair colour, the clothes, makeup they wear and skin colour. The team at DARIO Salon are also not afraid to advise clients with a new colour palette.
When asked about challenges colourists face, DARIO Salon says, “Working on hair that’s over-processed poses a challenge for colourists but we always commit to our clients that if we are working on their hair long-term they’ll see improvement in its condition. We really believe we can all have teenage hair again. So we are perfectionists and have to explain to clients it may not all happen in the one go. Having healthy hair is a commitment which gets easier over time.”
