Athlegen supplies treatment tables to Vancouver Games

Ballarat-based manufacturer and distributor of treatment and massage equipment, Athlegen, is the official supplier of massage and treatment tables to the Australian Olympic Winter Team for the Vancouver 2010 Olympic Winter Games.

Athlegen tables will be located both at the Australian team’s central treatment area in Vancouver and sub-sites at Whistler and Cypress Mountain for the duration of the Games from February 12 to 28.

The team will also travel with Athlegen portable tables in the lead-up to Vancouver, as Australia seeks to qualify 35 athletes for the Games.

Peter Hogg, physiotherapist, 2010 Australian Olympic Winter Team, said the locally designed tables were a natural choice for Vancouver.

“The Athlegen range includes a variety of plinth shapes and configurations to meet the needs of our diverse team of athletes,” said Hogg. “The wide base of the tables makes them ideal for spinal manipulation and deep tissue work, and features such as the adjustable face cradle ensure athletes remain comfortable during treatment sessions.”

Athlegen has provided massage and treatment tables to Australian athletes at the past four Olympic Games, starting with Atlanta in 1996. The company was also one of 12 winners of the Win Business Gold in China competition launched by Telstra and Austrade to help Australian small businesses build export contacts during the Beijing 2008 Olympic Games.

“Athlegen products are designed and manufactured to meet the high performance demands of elite athletes and we are very proud that our massage and treatment tables have again been chosen by the Australian Olympic Winter Team in Vancouver,” said Jeffrey Toering, New Business and Product Development Manager, Athlegen.
