Salon Melbourne announces more additions to line-up

The organisers of Salon Melbourne have announced more additions to the event line-up.

In addition to Natasha Severino and Kenneth Stoddart’s makeup and hair “face-off” on Saturday April 17, renowned makeup artist, Rae Morris (pictured left) and high profile hairdresser, Brad Ngata, will take to the stage on Sunday April 18. Drawing on the increasing synergy between the two disciplines, the live demos will see hair and makeup being done concurrently on two models.

The presenters are all known for their charismatic performance styles and breadth of experience in the business, and the audience will receive an unprecedented insight into the technical elements that are required to create a fashion-driven look. All the presenters will share their insider hints and tips for all budding international hair and makeup artists. Showcasing upcoming trends and cutting edge styles, the one-hour demo will take place on the main stage and is open to all visitors.

Rae Morris will also host two three-hour advanced workshops on both days, starting at 10.15am. The format was a massive success at the 2009 Sydney Beauty Expo and offers visitors the chance to learn from an industry leader about all things makeup.

Elly Lukas Beauty Therapy College will host Indian Head Massage workshops in the main exhibition hall. Central to the education of Victorian beauty therapists, Elly Lukas will also hold a number of workshops off-site including spray tanning, hot stone facial and eyelash extensions. A shuttle bus will be provided to and from the venue.

Experts from top rating small business TV show, Kochie’s Business Builders, will host business seminars. The TV show, hosted by David Koch, is dedicated to providing expert advice and ideas to budding entrepreneurs, small business start-ups, sole traders and small to medium-sized business owners. Similarly, these sessions will focus on how to drive revenue, beat the competition and re-invigorate your business.

Sessions include Refresh Your Business (April 17 and 18, 1.45pm to 4.45pm), an interactive learning experience packed with tips to get your business firing on all cylinders. One lucky attendee will win the opportunity of a mini makeover of their business on-site. Their business issues will be addressed, with recommendations on how to solve them, along with ideas on how to recharge their business.

The Super Sales Strategy seminar (April 17, 10.15am to 1.15pm) will focus on how to develop a superior sales strategy to improve business performance. This will include case studies of businesses in the hair and beauty industries that have used these strategies to drive revenue growth, and will include an interactive panel.
