Brow queen celebrates twin success

Six months after the roof of her luxury Melbourne salon collapsed during a thunderstorm, Suzie Mcintosh has reopened the salon – and another in Sydney too.

Suzie was forced to shut the doors of her salon, in December immediately after freak floods and golf ball-sized hail caused the roof to collapse one morning “just minutes before staff were set to start work”.

Suzie, who had just relocated to Sydney two weeks prior in order to begin planning the opening of a second salon, was in the middle of a training session when she was notified of the collapse and saw the event on the TV news.

“I will never forget the messages and photos coming through to my phone,” she said.

“I was completely devastated by what I was seeing unfold. I remember thinking ‘how will we ever recover from this?’ It was an absolute disaster in its finest form.”

Suzie immediately halted all plans on her Sydney salon and returned to Melbourne to oversee the five month renovation process at her Toorak salon to ensure it was even “better than before”.

“After what was a drastic end to 2018, I cannot tell you how relieved and ecstatic I am to finally be back in operation in Toorak,” she says.

Suzie, who initially opened her Toorak salon in mid-2017 after outgrowing three locations over the previous three years, is also now celebrating the opening of her Sydney at La Porté Space in Rosebery.

Specialising in cosmetic tattooing and brow styling, both salons have already attracted “a long list of celebrity and high-profile” clients from Sydney and Melbourne.

In addition Susie, who has trained with some of the most recognised brow artists across the world, including international brow queen Kelley Baker (Kim Kardashian West and Nicki Mina), attracts clients from “across the globe including the US, London, Europe, Dubai, Singapore, New Zealand and Tokyo” who even “fly her in for a bit of much needed brow maintenance”.

She also hosts her own masterclasses in Australia and internationally (Canada, New Zealand, and Los Angeles).
