What’s your skin’s age? You decide with HOYS

HOYS (licensing) Pty Ltd is debuting its new self-assessment computer software program the Home Of Younger Skin, which has been developed by one of Australia’s leading dermatologists Assoc. Prof. Greg Goodman to educate women on the skin ageing process.

With an increased number of Australians seeking cosmetic procedures (“an estimated 22.5% spike in expenditure in 2010-11”*) HOYS helps women to understand how their skin is changing, making them better prepared to take control.

The HOYS program allows women to analyse seven main areas that contribute to overall skin ageing (upper face, eyes, mid face, lower face, neck, chest and hands). Participants in the program compare their own skin area by area against a set of photographs, selecting the one that best matches their actual appearance. Based on the selections a report is generated giving an indication of their skin age for each of the seven regions as well as an overall skin age. The philosophy behind the program is that education leads to patient empowerment and choice, which in turn may see an “overall improvement in patient satisfaction and an enduring relationship between clinics and patients."**

“92% of patients would recommend the program to a friend.”**

“9 out of 10 women said the HOYS program made a real difference to understanding what choices were available to them.”**

In addition to providing patients with their skin ages the HOYS program has the capacity, when used by a clinician, to formulate a plan for rejuvenation. HOYS offers targeted treatment options specifically addressing areas identified by the program.

HOYS has been designed to provide clinics and their clients a neutral, formalised and reproducible consultation procedure empowering patients to make informed treatment decisions.

By the beginning of 2012 the HOYS system will be available to the general public in 17 different cosmetic clinics nationwide.
