This TGA-Approved Derma Roller Bridges Salon Results With At-Home Use

Microneedling is not a treatment to be taken lightly. The service is best administered by a professional skin therapist who can acutely measure a client’s suitability. While a number of derma rollers have flooded the market of late, few are deemed safe enough or effective enough for at-home use.

Australian skincare and technology brand, Lonvitalite is offering a solve – distributing product designed for use in-salon that can also be retailed to clients on the salon floor. Consisting of 540 .30mm titanium microneedles, the Lonvitalite Microneedle Derma Roller was designed for both in-salon and at-home use. The tool is TGA listed, and is available in a number of formats (including a rare body roller).

Before and after using Lonvitalite’s Microneedle Derma Roller

Alisar Khalil, National Marketing Manager at Lonvitalite, spoke to Professional Beauty on the unique sell:

Professional Beauty: How should skin therapists best educate their clients on derma roller usage from home?

Alisar Khalil: “Skin therapists need to ensure that their clients understand the benefits of derma rolling and the different types of derma rollers available. It is important to explain the proper derma rolling technique, including how to use the derma roller and the frequency of use.

Furthermore, skin therapists can better help their clients by providing a list of the serums and creams they can use in conjunction with the derma roller to target skin concerns and help them achieve their desired outcome.

The Lonvitalite Microneedle Derma Roller encourages product absorption, stimulates collagen production, reduces appearance of fine lines and wrinkles, and improves skin texture.”

How regularly can the microneedle derma roller be used at home between in-salon microneedling treatments?

“It is generally recommended that you wait about two weeks between using a microneedle derma roller at home and having an in-salon microneedling treatment. This will give your skin enough time to heal and recover after each treatment.

For any other in-between clinic treatments, use of the microneedle derma roller at home will depend on the individual and the type of skin. For most skin types it is safe to use the derma roller two to three times a week.”

Lonvitalite is one of few brands that offer a roller head for use on the body. What result can clients expect?

Clients using the Lonvitalite derma roller on areas such as the thighs and buttocks can expect results in improved skin texture and appearance, [as well as] stimulation of collagen production. The use of the body roller is not limited to the thigh and buttocks and is versatile in other areas of concern on the body, such as scalp treatment of premature hair loss in females, hair loss in males, surgical scarring, keratosis pilaris, cellulite and acne. Skin therapists have seen client results and success in these areas.

The micro-injuries created by the derma roller can help to improve the absorption of topical products, allowing them to penetrate deeper into the skin. This can lead to more effective and potentially faster results in the area of concern, and to achieve overall improved skin texture and appearance. It is always recommended to consult your skin therapist or doctor before using any skin treatments or combining them with other products.”
