Danne Montague-King visits Australia

Danne Montague-King, biological scientist and founder of the professional skincare brand DMK, has this week been in Australia to visit his salons and talk to the media.

An exclusive launch for the press was held at the Hilton Hotel in Sydney where Danne spoke in depth about DMK's ground-breaking enzyme treatments and recently launched foundation. Not only charasmatic but a great educator, the guests were enthralled by Danne and his knowledge of the skincare industry.

DMK works with their clients to improve the appearance of their skin, from concerns such as acne scarring, post-surgery scarring, rosacea and wrinkles. DMK have unique, non-evasive programs for all skin types. The brand's philosophy is to Remove, Rebuild, Protect and Maintain; while the Removing and Rebuilding can be done in salon, through a number of treatments, the Protecting and Maintaining is up to the client to do at home with the advice of the DMK therapists and recommended home prescriptives.

Deborah Hutton, who has recently undergone a DMK treatment program following skin cancer, also spoke at the launch about how her scarring has been significantly reduced.

During his talk, Danne stressed the importance of protecting your skin from the sun and other environmental aggressors. DMK have a trans-dermal sunblock with an SPF30. To keep skin youthful, moist and supple, maintaining skin’s sebum levels is key, said Danne. Dry skin is often dead cell build up, and dead cell removal through enzyme treatments can reveal more radiant skin. The DMK products work to increase skin’s natural sebum and nutrient levels rather than provide a short-term moisture solution.

DMK have recently launched a cosmetics line which Danne also discussed. Danne has thought outside the box to create a silicone-based foundation which has a 43-53% pigment (most foundations have 15%) meaning it gives great, long-lasting and full-coverage. It requires no touch-ups and, having a high resistance to heat, will not cause excess shine. It is also ideal for those who work in front of a camera. The foundation looks stunning on the skin and has got beauty editors buzzing. It should be used in conjunction with the DMK primer, which is a skin-healing product and ideal post-treatment. The primer also works as a canvas/base for the foundation and, with its light-reflecting properties, creates an even more flawless finish. Only a little foundation is required if you prefer a natural finish, but it does require time to settle on the skin and is best applied with one of DMK's soft and strong foundation brushes.

Products in the pipeline for DMK include a moisturising lipstick, eyeshadow "that won't come off in the shower" and a blush "that looks like you've just had sex" – we can't wait!
