Salons unite for bushfire relief

Kristin Fisher Eyebrows is leading the charge when it comes to raising funds for those affected by the Australian bushfires.

Calling on beauty and fashion brands to donate products and services, owner Kristin Fisher has just announced the KFE Market, to take place from 9am at Guilfoyle Park Double Bay on Saturday January 11.

“Our products, though wonderful, are not going to do too much to help those who have lost everything,” Kristin said. “My intention is to sell anything any brand wants to donate and give the proceeds straight to the Red Cross, NSW RFS and Wires, to deploy where needed most.”

It took less than 24 hours more than 70 brands to sign on, including Dermalogica, Sparkling White Smile, Beach Street Beauty Bar and Double Bay’s Cole Hair Studio.

“There will be no set price on items,” Kristin said of the market. “We ask that you donate what you can, and as generously as you can.”

The move has sparked a knock-on effect, with spas and salons following suit, and pledging to donate takings to the cause.

Cole Hair Studio has announced that 100% of proceeds taken on Saturday January 18 will be donated to the NSW RFS. “It’s a small way that we can give back and help fight this tragedy,” director Mariah Cole said.

Similarly, Sparkling White Smile has promised to donate 100% of all Textured Teeth Wipe sales for seven days, to the NSW RFS. “What is happening to our country right now is devastating and almost impossible to put into words,” said a representative of the brand.

Micro Glow has committed to donating $1 from every order for all of January to WWF Australia, and BLAQ is donating 100% of all sales until Wednesday to NSW RSF and Wires.

Kristin has called on all salons and clinics to do what they can in supporting those who are battling the biggest bushfires in Australia’s history, and those who have been affected by them. “We really are an incredible force when we band together like this,” she said.
