OPI at the 2013 Grammy Awards

Award winner Adele graciously accepted her award and waved her perfectly manicured OPI finger at Chris Brown at the 55th Annual Grammy Awards, whilst country singer Carrie Underwood rocked the red carpet showcasing the current nail art trend — the ring finger manicure.

Singer-songwriter Adele walked the 55th Annual Grammy Awards red carpet wearing OPI’s Hands Off My Kielbasa!, fashionably topped with OPI’s Matte Nail Envy to accessorise her chic custom Valentino Couture; a floral embroidered dress. Adele won Best Pop Solo Performance for "Set Fire to the Rain” at the ceremony, and, pointed her perfectly manicured nail at Chris Brown, when she gave him a tongue lashing, after he snubbed singer songwriter Frank Ocean for winning Best Urban Contemporary Album Award.

According to OPI’s celebrity manicurist Kimmie Kyees, “Adele wanted something fun and fabulous to complement her red patterned dress, so we added the Matte Nail Envy top coat to give her classic nails an edgy look to match her signature style. The matte finish added a stylish touch to her outfit.”

Meanwhile, country singer Carrie Underwood walked the 55th Annual Grammy Awards red carpet wearing the rich ruby lacquer shade, OPI’s Danke-Shiny Red, on her hands and toes. Underwood added a special touch for the occasion by opting for the ring finger manicure, which involves applying a different colour shade on your ring finger. Underwood chose OPI’s Liquid Sand formula What Wizardry Is This? on her ring finger

Commenting on Underwood’s desire for something different and textured, OPI celebrity manicurist Bobbie Naohara, “Carrie’s black lace dress was all about pattern and texture, a look that carried through to her nails, where shimmering red was contrasted by a rich taupe textured shade on her ring finger featuring OPI’s new Liquid Sand’s textured, matte finish."
