Seventy-six per cent of women are wearing the wrong shade of foundation, according to Melli Cosmetics creator Melissa Carter Dempster.
With this in mind, Melli has launched a custom blend foundation system called ‘Create-A-Blend’.
The system features a foundation bar with all the liquid bases, toners and adjustors needed to create a variety of foundations (including mousse texture, sheer to demi-matt and full coverage matt) to match any skin shade.
Melissa said the ‘Create-A-Blend’ system helps increase customer loyalty as a client’s personal ‘recipe’ is filed on a card for future orders.
In addition the system offers an attractive return on investment as creating “makeup on demand” means salons aren’t holding stock in shades that may never sell.
“Clients just love watching their very own foundation being blended right before their eyes,” said Melissa.
“My favourite feedback was when a client told me that her Melli Create-A-Blend Foundation made her skin look like she had just had an oxygen facial,” she said.
Melli Cosmetics will be demonstrating its Create-A-Blend system at Stand 3118 at the Sydney International Spa & Beauty Expo in September.
