Dale Dorning Nominated Makeup Artist of the Year

Celebrity hair and makeup artist, Dale Dorning, has secured his first nomination for Makeup Artist of the Year in the 2013 Australian Hair Fashion Awards (AHFAs).

Dale’s realistic approach to beauty, and his reputation as one of Australia’s most prolific and talented makeup artists, has seen him contribute widely to the industry over the past 20 years, inclusive of the official launch of dmd hair & makeup education in March 2012.

“I am absolutely thrilled to be a finalist in the 2013 AHFAs, which honour the true talent and creativity of some of the best in the business – Australian makeup artists truly represent some of the best in the world,” says Dale.

Renowned for his progressive, fresh and effortless approach to makeup and its artistry, whether he’s making up celebrities, engaged in an editorial layout, advertising campaign or music video, Dale is in constant demand across the media and entertainment industry, both locally and internationally. The reason for his steady employment is his versatility, which has seen him travel the world to work on fashion and beauty shoots.

“After spending the past few years in the US, it's nice to be back working in Australia and recognised for my passion and commitment to makeup artistry,” he adds.

From TV and pop royalty, to real-life royalty, Dale’s ‘effortless glamour’ signature style has graced some of the world’s most beautiful faces, including Crown Princess Mary of Denmark, supermodel Miranda Kerr, Delta Goodrem, Megan Gale, Jennifer Hawkins, Ruby Rose, Mel B., Vogue Williams, US actresses Rosario Dawson, Taylor Schilling and Katherine Kelly Lang, Sophie Monk, Natalie Bassingthwaite, Teresa Palmer, Kristy Hinze, Jessica Mauboy, Jess Hart and Ricki-Lee Coulter.

Judged by a panel of the UK’s leading hairdressers, these awards recognise the hairdressers, colourists and makeup artists whose photographic collections translate international hair and makeup trends to wearable hairstyles and looks. They are evaluated on their creative direction, inspirational effect, superb imagery and consumer credibility. Award winners and commendations will be announced at the AHFA Gala Event, to be held on Monday 15th April, 2013, at Daltone House, Jones Bay Wharf.
