Breakfast with Mineralogie

On June 19, Mineralogie invited beauty editors to an intimate breakfast in Surry Hills, launching the latest edition to their mineral makeup line.

The cold chills of winter were left behind as beauty editors walked in to Rainford Street Social on Crown Street. Softly lit and freshly decorated with flowers, the atmosphere was sophisticated – like the brand itself. In the centre of the room stood a stand showcasing Mineralogie products – including their lasted, a mineral-based BB cream. Guests were welcomed to try and test the entire range of mineral cosmetics.

CEO and founder of Mineralogie Mary Van flew in all the way from Dallas to join Citrine Cosmetics (Australian distributors of Mineralogie) in this exciting launch.
Mary introduced her brand and took the guests through a brief on what the brand believes in. “Our brand has been around for 26 years,” she said, “we manufacture all our products and I sometimes step in to the lab and formulate my own products.”

“Our brand is different because we believe in makeup that will do something for your skin and not work against it,” Mary explained.

The new BB Crème Skin Perfector SPF 20 is a sheer coverage cream that evens skin tone and works to promote elastin and collagen with powerful antioxidants. The ingredients include white tea, acai berry and vitamins A and E.

“We’re really excited about it because it is mineral-based. We have in it ingredients that would reduce signs of scarring and ageing. It hydrates the skin and plumps those of us who are starting to age,” said Mary.

What makes Mineralogie’s BB different to others is that its premise lies in skincare. The product is not designed to cover the skin in a thick layer of makeup, but to work deeper in the dermis improving the skin’s condition itself. “We wanted to make a cosmetic product that doesn’t just cover, but also fix,” Mary said, “we wanted to help our clients with ageing concerns and acne in a product that not only works but feels good on the skin.”
