What better way for beauty students to learn the ropes than in a working salon. So it’s a stroke of genius that that Beauty EDU is opening up its first Beauty EDU Bar, a campus-run brow and nail bar, in the heart of the new David Jones Eastland in Victoria.

Founded by Rebecca Judd and Ryan Trainor, Beauty EDU offers a new way of training students. The school aims to use less and takes the impact on the environmental seriously. It also uses a revolving roster of industry experts to train its students.

The Beauty EDU Bar launch corresponds with a new state-of-the-art Beauty EDU campus, which will also be embedded in David Jones Eastland. Like the school’s current campuses in Melbourne, Sydney and Bairnsdale, there’s 250 square metres of classrooms, including top-notch facilities for students to complete their beauty therapy course. Set to open in November, students will be able to complete a contemporary Diploma of Beauty Therapy, and in 2016 a Diploma of Specialised Makeup.

The Beauty EDU bar allows students exposure to a real working environment as well as access to potential empoloyers. It marks a win for customers too. Situated on the David Jones beauty floor, the Beauty EDU Bar offers customers great value treatments. On the treatment menu? A range of manicures (think Polish, Infinite Shine or Gel), brow shaping and tints.

“We’re thrilled to be able to provide Beauty EDU students invaluable client-facing experience at the Beauty EDU Bar, as well as the opportunity to shine in front of potential employers including David Jones and other principal beauty partners,” says Co-Founder of Beauty EDU Rebecca Judd.

Designed by world-class architects, Techne, the 250 square metre campus will feature three brightly lit classrooms with natural wooden flooring, copper light fixtures and luxurious furniture. The idea is to create a high end salon ambience to inspire student creativity.
