Government launches an employment check-list for salon owners

With 2021 bringing with it hope for salon owners, there is a high chance that hiring new employees may be on the to-do list some time in the new year. Whether your salon is experiencing growth, or you’re in a position to fill the roles you were forced to make redundant in 2020, the federal government has created the ‘Hiring Employees Check-list’ to ensure you not only find the best person for your business, but that you also do so while meeting the Australian laws and policies surrounding employment.

“I think we can assume that 2021 is going be a better year for businesses,” says business analyst Boris Thompson. “And with that comes the pressure and excitement of adding new recruits. But it’s so easy to get it wrong when it comes to officially employing someone. And the ramifications of that can be disastrous for both employer and employee. It’s worth taking the time to ensure it’s done correctly.”
