The countdown to the Sydney International Spa & Beauty Expo is on. Set to cause quite a stir among visitors to the expo, the makeup and nail competitions will take talent to soaring new heights.
In only a few short weeks, the countries biggest beauty expo will take over the halls of the Darling Harbour Convention and Exhibition Centre.
Set over both days, makeup artists will have to perform under pressure to create awe-inspiring looks under three makeup categories. This year the expo adds a fashion twist to the awards with a Runway-inspired category – where participants will be challenged to draw inspiration from international runway trends to create a winning look.

Makeup artists won’t be the only ones drawing the crowds. The nail competitions will bring together the highest standard of talent in nail artistry and will compete for a $1000 cash prize and the prestigious title of ‘Overall Champion’.
This year sees the introduction of editorial-focused categories, including the fashion-inspired Runway Nails and the Photographic Categories.
Sara Wong, well renowned nail stylists and competition organiser, commented “the new categories give the competitors the best opportunity to create visually stunning designs.”
What’s more, the competition rules have been changed in line with international standards.
