Wella Professionals have revealed Australia’s newly crowned, cutting-edge hairdressing talent at the National Wella Trend Vision Award 2012.
The awards saw an Australian first, whereby Gold in both categories was awarded to a mother and daughter, who together will represent Australia at the International Wella Trend Vision Awards in Madrid in October.
Sanja Scher won gold in the colour category
Known for identifying the nation’s newest up-and-coming hairstylists, Wella and the Australian hairdressing elite assembled at Sydney’s Luna Park to choose the hairstylist who will represent the nation at the International Wella Trend Vision Awards.
The Wella Trend Vision Awards provides a platform for new and established hairdressers to showcase their talent and creativity by interpreting one of the four Wella Trends of 2012: Blaze, Roxy, Celeste and Grace.
Stephanie Bacelic won the young talent category with assistant Caitlin Wilson from Joey Scandizzo Salon
In an Australian first, winning Gold in the colour category and young talent category were mother-daughter duo, stylist Sanja Scher (colour) and Stephanie Bacelic (young talent).
Sanja Scher and assistant Yoshi Su from Rokk Ebony received widespread accolades from judges for her take on the Celeste trend, which she used to create a spectacular futuristic look. The colour category recognises exceptional colouring technique and finish with haircut, makeup, accessories and clothes.
“We had many sleepless nights, and due to my other hairdressing commitments, I hadn’t had a day off in over three weeks! It’s wonderful to see the hard work pay off,” says Scher.
“I am thrilled and honoured to be chosen as the Australian finalist in the colour category and can’t wait to represent Australia at the international finals.
