Guangzhou International Beauty Expo set to attain new heights

The 31st edition of the Guangzhou International Beauty & Cosmetic Import-Export Expo (Guangzhou International Beauty Expo) takes place from September 24 to 26. The three-day event will gather well-known international brands as well as key players of the China beauty industry under one roof. A rich calendar of special events is also planned; including demonstration, forums and seminars conducted by specialists and elites of the industry.

As a result of the enthusiastic visitor response to the 30th edition of the expo, held in March 2009, the September event has attracted nearly 2,000 exhibiting companies from 18 countries and regions. Six product-sectorised exhibition halls will cater to all sectors of the beauty industry:

Hall 9.2 Packaging and Machinery, Raw Materials, Private Labels and OEM.

Hall 10.2 Perfumery and Cosmetics, Personal Care Products, Bath Accessories and Toiletries, Chain Stores and Franchising Business.

Hall 11.2 Nail Products, Hair Products, Equipment and Salon Furnishings, Beauty and Hair Training Institutes.

Hall 9.3 Traditional Chinese Medicine, Professional Beauty Salon and Well-Being Products, Health and Nutrition, Tattoo and Accessories.

Hall 10.3 International Brands, International and Group Pavilions, Professional Beauty Salon and Well-Being Products, Tools and Equipment.

The Autumn 2009 fair will see more top brands from around the world, bringing the latest in global trends and glamour, and exploring the huge opportunities in China’s growing beauty market. Participation from Australia, Korea, Hong Kong and Taiwan regions will be found alongside international brands such as Académie, Algotherm, Ayer, Babor, Bioline, Filorga, Gatineau, Guinot, Janssen, LPG, La Colline, Maria Galland, Matis, Methode Brigitte Kettner, OPI, Payot, Rivage, Vagheggi, Valmont and Veribel.

The popular Traditional Chinese Medicine (TCM) Pavilion will be divided into five themed areas: Yao (medicine), Shu (skills, techniques), Shi (dietary), Xin (mind) and Shen (spirit). Industry giants such as Yunnan’s Hani Yangsheng, Inner Mongolia’s San Zhu Liang, Jilin Long Tai, Guangzhou Han Zhi, Zangmi Yangsheng, together with the Dong-E E-Jiao Group, the famous traditional brand for dietary nutrition in China, will gather in the TCM Pavilion, disclosing the secrets of traditional Chinese medicine. There will also be seminars focusing on how to apply TCM principles in traditional beauty treatments.

A series of hair shows, live demonstrations, high-level forums and conferences presented by industry leaders from different sectors will unveil precious experiences and insights, providing an integrated learning experience for visitors. The Design & Innovation Seminar Zone in Hall 9.2 will present topical seminars designed for manufacturers and packaging suppliers to the beauty industry. Topics include brand-building and nurturing the development of nascent cosmetic enterprises in China.

Jointly organised with Cosmetics Observer Magazine, the third “Development of the Cosmetic Market in China Conference” will have the theme, “Cosmetics Reach a New High” and take participants into the dynamic China cosmetic market.

“All About Spa” is once again supported by the Spa & Wellness Association Singapore (SWAS) and the China Spa Association, offering a broad learning opportunity for specialists, trainers, therapists and brands. Fifi Kao, Director and Managing Editor of SpaChina Magazine, the Exclusive Spa Media Partner of the fair, will speak about “The future development of China Spa Industry”, analysing the current situation and the weaknesses of the spa industry in China, and suggesting ways to overcome them. Samantha Foster, one of the Asia’s topmost spa consultants, will share her knowledge on “How to Profit in Tough Times”.

With a brand new stage design and setting, the “Style on Stage – Make-up Trends Live Show” will present the irresistible allure of colour make-up. Following its successful debut in Style on Stage in the 30th edition, Baozi returns in September with BAOZI 09 “Love in Autumn” Cosmetic Show & Trend Presentation, certain to mesmerise the audience with make-up trends for the coming autumn.
