Professional Beauty has secured industry leader in sustainability Paul Frasca to headline the event to be held in the stunning surrounds of Potts Point’s The Butler on Monday, 31 May 2021. The highly anticipated breakfast Meet and Mingle offers the chance to hear about the latest eco-friendly practices and the advancements in earth-friendly skincare with like-minded leaders.
A beauty industry leader in sustainability
After years as a beauty professional, Sustainable Salons Co-founder and Managing Director Paul Frasca downed tools just a few years back with a new vision – to start a sustainability movement aimed to stem the flow of waste endemic to the beauty industry. Award-winning Sustainable Salons was born in 2015 at the hands of Paul Frasca and partner Ewelina Soroko as a resource recovery program, which collects up to 95% of the salon bin and redirects materials for recycling and repurposing solutions. 100% of the recycling proceeds are donated to OzHarvest and KiwiHarvest to help provide meals for those in need.
Together Frasca and Soroko are changing the way beauty businesses think about profitability alongside sustainability, influencing consumers to make a greener choice for their next treatment or service, and it’s making an impact.
Going green is good for business.
A global career in hairdressing
Frasca’s career started when he was just a kid, becoming a salon owner at the precocious age 19, after which he found himself styling elite clientele in Europe from his base in Amsterdam for the next decade. He met his partner (and passionate environmentalist) Eweline Soroko while there. Subsequently during travels in Australia, their discovery that a million kilos of foils ended up in landfills every year compelled them to them found Refoil, an industry first in recycled foil product and the first step in their journey to advancing the cause of sustainability across the beauty industry.
