On July 23 Curtis Collection created sports luxe summer looks at the Watson x Watson resort 2015 show.
Held at The Rushcutters in Rushcutters Bay, the collection summoned the spirits of summer on a winter’s day. Combining sports luxe with a basic feminine aura, the resort collection was a perfect balance of light textures, soft prints, blue snake-skin and heavy structuring.
Encompassing every summer wardrobe need, the collection is designed to cater to every occasion from bright mornings to balmy late nights.
Bringing forth the multidimensional character of the Watson x Watson resort girl, makeup director Max May created a soft cat eye with nude shimmer lips using Curtis Collection products. Simple, sophisticated, yet with depth – the look complements every context of summer without making an overstatement.
“The brief for the show was very open – I was given a couple of textural images: glosses, shimmers and a slight modern 80s feel. I interpreted this in a subtle cat eye by running bronze shadow through and around the rim. I’ve also done a soft luminous pink on the lids and a little bit of a high-flushed cheeks to give that sportiness dimension to the look. The look is paired with a nude lip which I’m brushing with a frosted pink eyeshadow, and then to bring the sporty luxe through I’ve put a coat of clear gloss over the lips,” said Max.
“The Watson x Watson girl has sports luxe in her, she doesn’t wear a lot of makeup because she’s more about attention to detail.”
