Bhave Rescue Treatment Launch

Neil Cleminson, bhave’s creative and technical director has been in Sydney this week to introduce media to bhave’s new rescue treatment at Troy Thompson Hairdressing in Potts Point. The new rescue treatment is the first Australian hair treatment to harness the power of Functional Keratin to help heal damaged hair.

Neil appling bhave rescue to Nina's hair

The key innovation in bhave rescue is Replicine Functional Keratin – a naturally derived and extracted keratin protein almost identical to the naturally occurring keratin present in hair and skin. It is derived from pure New Zealand sheep’s wool, a fibre very similar to human hair. This patented process employs a unique extraction method that does not require the use of heat or acids, therefore, keeping the proteins in tact and useable.

Neil says, “If the hair is damaged, Replicine Functional Keratin penetrates into the fibre and binds to the internal structure, rebuilding the damaged proteins to restore strength and condition the fibre. If hair’s condition is good, a sacrificial shield will be deposited on the surface, protecting the hair from potential damage.”

With his warm and enthusiastic nature and in-depth product knowledge, beauty journalists enjoyed spending time with Neil who is also known in the industry for giving great blow dries. Professional Beauty’s Nina Richards was lucky enough to try the rescue treatment and was amazed by the results: “My hair not only feels soft and silky but looks shiny and healthy with a renewed volume and bounce. Neil’s fantastic blow-dry also gave me the perfect finish. I’m absolutely loving the transformation.”

The finished result

Neil says the Replicine Functional Keratin in rescue is being rolled out in the hair care range, specifically the Hydrator Shampoo and Conditioner as well as Fresh Ends which continues the repair and restoration of the hair at-home. Neil recommends his clients have regular bhave rescue treatments if their hair is damaged or regularly coloured, straightened and blow-dried.

bhave was first launched in April 2011. Their first product was the in-salon smoothe keratin treatment, followed by the at-home product range. Next came the smoothe plus treatment; a stronger version of smoothe, for thicker, coarser, more difficult to manage hair. The at-home product range is a salon professional hair care system free of formaldehyde, parabens and sulphates, as well as sodium chloride with the brand’s aim being to deliver exceptional results without compromising on performance. The range of shampoos, conditioners, hair masques and treatment products are infused with fresh fragrances and nutritive-rich ingredients including Certified Organic Argan oil, aloe vera, vitamin E and pro-vitamin B.

Neil is really pleased with the success that not only the treatments but product-line has already had and says he sees results every day. “One of my clients in Melbourne just couldn’t grow her hair below her chin as it always thinned out and split despite her having lots of hair at the roots. The hair shaft just didn’t seem to possess the medulla needed to give it strength. About 5 or 6 months ago she had her first smooth plus treatment followed by rescue and started using the at-home product range. Since then her hair condition has significantly improved and she has managed to grow it to her shoulders – long and thick.”
