BeautyEurasia closes on a high

The sixth edition of BeautyEurasia, in Turkey last month reported a successful show – the first organised in partnership with Cosmoprof Worlwide Bologna.

Over 20,000 visitors attended, up 15% from 2009 with 80 countries represented; mostly coming from Iran, Bulgaria, Syria, Iraq, Italy, Greece, Lebanon, Saudi Arabia, Jordan, Libya, Germany, Russia, U.A.E, Ukraine, Morocco, Egypt, Macedonia, Romania, Turkmenistan, Kuwait, Tunisia, Serbia and The Netherlands. Pre-registration was up 25% compared to last year.

The show hosted 252 exhibitors from 38 countries, with a positive response from European industry players, who are expected to participate in larger number in coming years. The show floor area was up 15% too, totalling over 11,000 square meters of the Tuyap Exhibition Centre with a wide selection of beauty products aimed at the different channels distribution: mass market, hair salons, spas, packaging, private label and contract manufacturer.

With a total population of nearly 500 million people, the Eurasian region is confirmed as a target area essential for the international cosmetics industry looking for new business opportunities. Turkey plays a crucial role, thanks to its geographical location, its cultural and linguistic peculiarities and it should strengthen its mission further in the medium term.

Given the success of this edition, in future we hope to expand the presence of professionals from countries including France, Spain, Germany, England, and USA, opening this event to a real process of internationalisation,” Aureliana De Sanctis, CEO of SoGeCos SpA, said.

The 2011 edition of BeautyEurasia powered by Cosmoprof will be held from June 16 to 18 at the Tuyap Exhibition Centre in Istanbul.
