Advanced Cosmeceuticals gets Medik8 and new PR Manager

Advanced Cosmeceuticals has announced it has acquired the Australian distributorship of UK cosmeceutical brand, Medik8. According to the company’s website, Medik8 positions itself as, “Europe’s leaders in solution-based cosmeceutical skin care product development. Innovators in the use of peptide and antioxidant technologies as well as high-dose, clinically proven, multiple vector botanical extracts.”

Medik8 says it only uses the chirally correct form of an ingredient wherever possible. The range is recommended for specific skin problems such as acne, age spots, hyperpigmentation, rosacea and sensitive skin.

Managing Director of Advanced Cosmeceuticals, Catherine Biedermann, said she and her team are excited to bring Medik8 to Australia.

“We have researched for the past two years looking for products that have the level of scientific background we require from a product to add to our existing ranges. Medik8 meets these requirements using new technology and professional strength ingredients in chirally correct skincare,” she said.

Advanced Cosmeceuticals says the brand will be available on the local market from spring 2009.

The company has also recently engaged a new in-house Public Relationship Manager, Julia Pfeiffer, who looks after the spa and beauty industry, as well as consumers.

Pfeiffer said: “I am very excited about this new role and to work with such an enthusiastic team. The brands are fantastic! Although they are diverse – from cosmeceuticals to algae-based – they have one thing in common: they are backed up by science and lead to effective results. I am looking forward to sharing all the news about Advanced Cosmeceuticals and each brand.”
