To capture the attention of their online community, vocational education and training organisation, The Australasian College Broadway, has launched an exciting online initiative dubbed, Name Our Car.
Name Our Car competition runs until 8th January 2013
The online competition is promoted on Facebook and asks entrants to simply name The College’s first car, a Suzuki Alto, for their chance to win a $1000 luxury experience.
Founder and co-chair at The Australasian College, Maureen Houssein-Mustafa OAM, says the aim was to create a personality for the car based on the idea that everyone names their first car.
“We’re really excited by the Name Our Car concept. It’s about being in touch with our audience and finding ways to create buzz and excitement,” Maureen says.
“Social media is more than just another marketing tool for The College. Our social media strategy supports our mission of enhancing lives through skills and knowledge by creating relationships and engaging with our online community.”
The College has extended its social media presence to include Pinterest, Instagram and YouTube, selecting social media platforms all widely used by students.
“This week, we’ll also be launching a blog and a e-newsletter to share thought leadership and information that is relevant and fun for our online community.”
Facebook users will be asked to vote for their favourite name and the top five names will go to The College judging panel which includes two students and two staff members. The winner will receive a luxury pamper session at The College, followed by a chauffeured prestige vehicle ride through Sydney and a private harbourside picnic for two people valued at over $1000. The four runners up will each receive a gift voucher for a luxury pamper session at The College.
The competition will run until Tuesday 8th January 2013 followed by a voting period from 9th to 22nd January 2013. The winner will be announced on Thursday 24th January 2013.
