Hair Styling with Make-Up Mode

Learn the skills and gain the experience to start your career as a make-up artist or hairstylist with Make-up Mode Masterclass.

Introducing Make-up Mode Masterclasses' Hairstyling Course. An introductory course for anyone wanting to be a bridal and editorial hair stylist. Learn the art and the technique to create elaborate editorial hair or stunning updo’s for brides and bridesmaids.

Susan Markovic, director of Make-up Mode, says the course is ideal for make-up artists with little or no hairstyling skills, “Eighty per cent of fashion work in editorial and/or beauty relies on one artist doing both hair and makeup. Don’t miss out on the next shoot because you can’t do hair!”

Paula Hibbard will be teaching the students. She has a passion for hair, and long hair in particular. During a career spanning over twenty years, Paula has amassed a wealth of knowledge, skills and experience through her work with such industry greats as Sharon Blain, Benny Tognini, Shane Henny, Patrick Cameron, to name a few, both in Australia, the USA and Europe.

Paula’s creativity, passion and flair are the cornerstones of her approach to hair and hair education. Her vivacious nature provides the perfect complement to her exceptional technical skills and commitment to excellence in hair education.

A highly-respected and inspirational hair stylist, educator and trainer, Paula is currently a director of education for the award-winning Sharon Blain Education, a hair director for the TV series Project Runway Australia and an associate member of the Australian Hairdressing Council. She regularly shoots for film and television, and her work has been featured in numerous magazines, most recently on the cover of Gowns Magazine. She has had several editorial features in Gowns, Modern Wedding, and Luxury Wedding Magazines.

Some subjects to be covered include editorial ponytails and elaborate hairstyles for session styling. Classic French roll and Audrey style (smooth and messy) as well as chignons. Finger waves and braids. You will also learn to incorporate the use of hair extensions and padding.

Course duration is seven consecutive Mondays, 10am – 4pm. A certificate of attainment is given at the completion of the course.

Intake is just six students per class and there are only two classes scheduled for 2013:

March 11 – April 22, 2013

October 21 – December 2, 2013
