Dale Dorning Announces Face Value Makeup Course in Brisbane

International celebrity hair and makeup artist, Dale Dorning, is returning to Brisbane with his much-anticipated Face Value Certificate II Makeup course from February 4th-8th, 2013.

Held at Brisbane’s new education destination, the Makeup & Glow Academy, and directed to those already in or looking to enter the makeup industry, Dale will lead an intensive week–long nationally certified and accredited course, which delivers all the key aspects of makeup artistry.

“We’ve designed the Face Value Certificate II in Makeup course for those who really want to jumpstart their career in makeup, giving it an industry twist to demonstrate the Certificate II can be achievable in a week, with assignment work completed remotely,” says Dale.

“I’m imparting my knowledge and personal expertise to the students, coupled with an emphasis on intense, practical makeup experience, in an effort to encourage each student’s artistic license, and the creation of their own signature style.“

All participants will walk away competent and qualified, with the following subjects guaranteed to inspire and stimulate aspiring makeup artists:

• Facial anatomy
• Signature skin
• Remedial camouflage
• A darker shade of pale: makeup for women of the world
• Conversion makeup: taking balanced to brilliant
• Highlight & shading techniques for lighting mediums
• Lashes: single, flairs & strip application
• Male grooming
• Fashion / editorial make up
• Industry ‘speak’ to building your brand

Renowned for his progressive, fresh and effortless approach to makeup and its artistry, and his understanding of the specific makeup needs of women worldwide, it’s little wonder that Dale’s impressive list of celebrity clientele spans the globe. From TV royalty to pop royalty, Dale’s ‘effortless glamour’ signature style has graced some of the world’s most beautiful faces, including Crown Princess Mary, Miranda Kerr, Mel B., Delta Goodrem, Rosario Dawson, Ruby Rose, Natalie Bassingthwaite, Megan Gale, Ricki-Lee Coulter, Sophie Monk, Teresa Palmer and Jennifer Hawkins.

“After being Delta’s makeup artist, and working internationally, it was a natural progression for me to come back to the classroom and share my knowledge, experience and expertise, with these next generation makeup artists,” says Dale.

“From working my sell-out master classes, I have seen that the demand and need for progressive, in-depth and real makeup education is here. My working world is not just about celebrities, it’s also about the everyday – weddings, photo and video shoots, fashion parades – which is why I am passionate about giving students the practical experience they need to begin their careers with a great foundation.”

For students that book for Dale’s course before December 21st, the week-long workshops will conclude with an introduction to airbrushing by Rachael Parnell, owner of Makeup & Glow and in-demand airbrush expert. Each participant will walk away with a nationally recognised accreditation and certificate of completion in airbrush.

Dale will also be hosting his Intensive Hairstyling course during the evenings of February 5th, 6th & 7th.

Dale’s hairstyling courses, from entry level to 'working' hair styling, involves product and equipment knowledge, hair texture and types/consulting, the essential prep, tools of the trade, hair additions, long hair techniques, blowouts, directional rollering and ironing, as well as his expert finishing techniques. All attendees will leave with a certificate of completion.
