Over the last decade the beauty and spa industry has made a conscious effort to move towards a more eco-friendly and holisitic approach to services and treatments. As a result, the Phyt’s professional training program has been developed to embrace and incorporate new insights into these areas.
Professional Beauty’s Beauty and Features editor, Lauren Carter recently attended the Phyt’s ‘Evolve Your Business, Consciously’ seminar held on February 14 at Phyt’s head office in St Leonards,
It was held primarily to benefit Phyt’s salons and holistic salon owners. The first day covered trends and directions in the beauty, wellness and spa industries and the growth of the “LOHAS” consumer market. These consumers are driven by a desire to choose products which are natural, healthy, organic and environmentally friendly. The seminar addressed how to attract these consumers and drive them to salons which reflect their values and ethos.
Phyt’s Business Development Manager Eliza Blackwood spoke about the Holistic Business Model which is completely different to a traditional linear business model and explained to attendees how to adopt this model and incorporate it into their salons successfully.
Isabelle Sennery, the Key Accounts and Trainer for Phyt’s discussed how to incorporate holistic values and ambience into the salon environment and help workshop issues faced by salon owners who are developing their own holistic businesses.
“I have found that in many instances, once salon owners truly understand that we, as a society, are moving beyond the concept of beauty as being mostly a physical concept to a holistic concept, a whole new world of possibilities open up for them without necessitating that they become a typical day spa. We are trying to awaken beauty salon owners to a new paradigm in health and beauty that if adopted, can lift their business to a whole new dimension,” says Sennery.
The training seminars are held monthly and separated by range to accompany the new Phyt's professional promotion of opening orders by range for under $1000 – the ideal way of introducing organic skincare to your clients and tapping into this growing market.
The ‘Evolve Your Business, Consciously’ seminar will be held again in May 2011.
