What prompted you to create Miss Vitality?

“Working with women to feel and look their very best is our passion at Miss Vitality. Nourishing the body on the inside, raising levels of antioxidants and therapeutic phytonutrients means we have effective results on the outside in the most commonly seen skin conditions,” says Pamella Zakotelsky, who co-founded Miss Vitality with Natasha McCrystal, a paramedical aesthetician with 20 years’ skin clinic experience under her belt. “The focus of Miss Vitality was to strengthen our internal landscape for the protection of our cellular health and gut balance.”

Who is Miss Vitality aimed at?

“Miss Vitality has been created for the multitasking busy women of today,” says Zakotelsky. “We want to encourage women to be empowered, energised and inspired to live the healthiest life in their beautiful skin.”

Why did you decide to focus on skin nutrition?

“For many years’ skin clinics have used high tech treatments and external approaches to obtain effective results in the area of skin health,” says Zakotelsky. “Although these treatments have delivered amazing results, patients would often find their problem areas remaining and/or returning time and time again. Miss Vitality is a bridge between results inside and outer skin health.”

What does a healthy gut do for skin?

“Addressing gut health, nutrient levels and diet, shows that we have less inflamed, aged, stressed skin,” says Zakotelsky. “With that we saw the opportunity to give therapists a nutritional tool to make the outcomes in skin more effective and vast.”

How long was the range on the drawing board for?

“Around 18 months plus 15 years of Naturopathic clinical findings and experience,” says Zakotelsky. “Plus twenty years’ experience from Natasha!”

In your practice, do you find women are coming to you for their skin complaints?

“Absolutely! Women come to me for skin complaints and we always look at the inside systems and how these connect to their symptoms,” says Zakotelsky . Altering someone’s diet alone can impact the skin in a big way; for instance, cutting out sugar, wheat and dairy in some individuals has reduced their rosacea dramatically. Cleansing the system repairs the absorption of nutrients and begins to heal the skin when in need of nutrients.”

How much impact does internal health have on our skin?

“Our skin is the largest organ of the body,” says Zakotelsky. “How we absorb and eliminate can affect our skins appearance and reactions from day to day.

What are some common skin issues that present as a health issue internally?

“Acne vulgaris, Rosacea, Psoriasis and Eczema plus the Glycation condition,” says Zakotelsky. “These all have imbalances that occur on an internal level, in particularly involving hormone balance, gut health and balancing inflammatory markers.”

Are salon owners and therapists more interested in health these days?

“Certainly, there is more awareness that there is a definite link between diet and nutrition and the effects it has on the skin,” says Zakotelsky. “From our experience in clinics, there are more diet related questions asked during skin consultations to achieve greater results in clients treatments. Therapists are always looking for more tools to better the outcomes of their clients and nutrition is becoming a leading aspect in this.”

To what extent can good health solve skin issues?

“A large extent comes from internal health however we [it’s best to] take a holistic approach,” says Zakotelsky. “When teamed with effective skin care and treatments, the client is supported for those skin results in the best way possible.”

How can beauty professionals incorporate Miss Vitality into their salon?

“We have partnered with Advanced Skin Techonology as the distributors of Miss Vitality,” says Zakotelsky. “Advanced Skin Technology is a powerhouse of resources and combined with their ethics, educational standards and philosophies, they are the perfect fit.”

What has been the feedback from salons (and their clients) so far?

Our integrative system excites teams of skin clinics and nutritionists are impressed with the range, cosmetic doctors support it and dermal nurses have loved having a new tool for their clinic.”
