Eco Tan makes Australian history

Eco Tan has made Australian history by becoming the first and only certified organic and 100 percent natural spray tan in the country. Certified by the Organic Food Chain (OFC), it’s not only natural; the tanning solution contains over 70 percent of certified organic ingredients.

Sonya Driver, owner of Eco Tan, started her business as a result of her gentle-spirited 30-year-old sister being diagnosed with a melanoma. Thankfully, as a result of early detection (and lots of prayers), Sonya’s sister has since recovered.

Knowing first-hand just how dangerous exposure to the sun can be, but with a desire to still have a bronzed glow, Sonya started having spray-on tans.

This didn’t last long as Sonya became increasingly concerned about the ingredients she was constantly spraying herself with. And so, she began to research the ingredients found in spray-on tans.

After thousands of hours researching and formulating, Sonya put together a solution that provides clients with a safe alternative to products currently on the market.

Eco Tan’s colours do not contain synthetic food colouring and are made from organic pigments, herbs, flower extracts, fruit extracts and chamomile.

What’s more, in March of this year, Eco Tan made Australian history by becoming the first and only certified 100 percent natural spray tan in the country. Certified by the Organic Food Chain (OFC), it’s not only natural; the tanning solutions contain over 70 percent of certified organic ingredients.

Eco Tan, where possible, also uses veggie ink and recycled paper, which is friendly to the environment.

“It is our aim to bring you a range of products that you will not only love, but also has as little impact on Mother Nature as possible,” says Sonya.

And in the wise words of Sonya’s eight-year-old daughter, Charlotte:

"God took something bad, mixed it with something good, to make something beautiful.”
