Australian spray tan technician develops successful tan removal product

tanGO is a specially formulated polyamide cloth, which gently removes tanning pigment from the skin’s surface without requiring harsh scrubbing or the use of chemicals.

The concept for the product was born when Jodi noticed many consumers resorting to harsh methods to remove self tan patches and errors, including toothpaste, Napisan and even Jiff.

Product creator Jodi Bibra believes it is a great product for salons and spas to stock and can be implemented as an ‘up-sell’ tool in conjunction with self tan or spray tans.

Development of the product began in 2006 and tanGO was officially launched to the Australian market at the 2010 Sydney Beauty Expo in September this year.

“There is nothing like it on the market. In the short time since we launched nationally, we have already secured over 70 stockists who are proud to supply tanGO.”

“Having had my mother die from skin cancer at a young age, it means a lot to me that I am helping to grow an industry that allows people achieve the tan they want without exposing themselves to deadly UV rays,” said Jodi.
