Aussie Celebs Go Organic with Eco Tan

Last year, Eco Tan made Australian history by becoming the first and only tanning manufacturer to be certified organic by the Organic Food Chain. This year, they’re turning heads with all new branding, including a brand new ambassador: Channel Nine reporter Amber Wyatt.

Eco Tan is proving to be a popular tanning option among Australian celebrities, notably television personality Natalie Gruzlewski, who regularly pops in to the Eco Tan head office for a spray tan. Toni Collette has also been seen with a tube of Eco Tan’s self tanner, Invisible Tan, while shopping in Byron Bay.

Sonya developed Eco Tan solutions after her sister was diagnosed with a melanoma. Rachael is fortunate to have caught the growth in time, as it is the most life threatening form of skin cancer.

The two then began getting regular spray tans, so they could still get that golden glow without the risk of the sun’s harmful rays. However, they were disappointed with the amount of synthetics and toxic ingredients used in many products.

Research has shown that most of what we put on our skin can be absorbed into our bloodstream and when it comes to spray tanning, it simply isn't enough to wear a protective inhalation mask. Sonya consequently threw herself into creating a true organic tanning range from her Gold Coast kitchen.

After many hours of research and making batches for friends and family, Eco Tan is the final product of Sonya's efforts. Eco Tan is made with 100 per cent natural ingredients, 70 per cent of which are certified organic.

The colour comes from cacao (chocolate) and the active ingredient is Eco Cert Dihydroxyacetone (DHA), a certified natural non-toxic type of sugar.
