Super natural at Albus Lumen

New brand on the block Albus Lumen kept its makeup super clean and simple with skincare by Laura Mercier playing a big part.

Makeup artist, Ania Milczarczyk for Laura Mercier kept the makeup look at this uber cool show, “super natural”. This look was the epitome of the no make-up look, with plenty of skin prepping going on behind the scenes. (Think Laura Mercier Water Mist, Laura Mercier Repair Eye Serum, and Laura Mercier Infusion de Rose Moisturiser.)

“We wanted it really natural, really casual to match the clothes,” says Milczarczyk.

“We have prepped the skin with the Water Mist to open the pores and then used the Repair Eye Serum, which has reflecting particles in it to keep in line with the desired dewy finish.”

The star player here was the Rose Moisturiser, which Milczarczyk says, Mercier created exactly for this purpose – to add glow to stressed-out model skin.

“We used the Infusion de Rose moisturiser to nourish the skin,” she says. “We massaged it in before using a primer.”

Next was a tinted moisturiser only on parts of the face that needed it.

“We’ve got Illuminated Tinted Moistursier on the cheeks and on the nose, we’ve left the rest of the skin bare,” says Milczarczyk. “We want to see the texture of the skin, we want the skin to come through. If there were freckles, we wanted them to show.”

A light contour of bronzer was then applied. And just to continue with the cool-girl vibe, this same bronzer (Laura Mercier Matte Radiance Baked Powder) was multi-tasked to the eyes.

For the brows it was just a matter of a tidy up (“we’ve just brushed them up”), while lips were left bare apart from a slick of the brand’s lip balm.

For lashes, models changed chairs to sit in front of lash expert Rachael Brook who attached 1000 Hour Artificial Lashes just where models needed them.

“We’re using the individual Black Flared Short lashes, says Brook. “Applying them just where the girls need an infill. We’re not trying to change their lash line or make a dramatic lash, we’re just want to enhance the lashes to give a luscious, natural look. We didn’t want the lashes to take-over from the minimal makeup.”
