Guinot Educator Visits Sydney

Beauty media were recently invited to attend a media event for salon exclusive, French skincare brand Guinot.

Taking place at Youeni Foodstore in Surry Hills, guests were introduced to Robyn Hollands, national PR manager, Jonathan Pritchard, managing director for Guinot Australia and special guest Sandrine Carliez, international head of education visiting from the Paris head office.

Sandrine spoke about the brand which has had a presence in the international market for 45 years. “We have almost a 50 per cent share of the market and in terms of turnover are a leader in France. We are also beginning to be very big in Asia and Japan,” she said.

She said education is key to Guinot’s success, with many women using the wrong cosmetic products. She spends much of her time visiting beauty therapists and ensuring they are up-to-speed with how diagnose and analyse skin.

The focus of the event was the Age Logic range, which launched two years ago. Sandrine discussed ATP [adenosine triphosphate] the technology at the heart of the range. “ATP is very important in the life of our skin cells. It supplies essential energy and oxygen to the heart of cells to re-launch their regenerating activity. Age Logic contains 56 active ingredients to slow down cellular ageing and repair damaged cells.”

Guinot’s Age Logic range includes Age Logic Cellulaire, a face cream for dry and normal skin types, Age Logic Cellulaire Corps, a similar formula but made for the entire body, and Age Logic Yeux, for the delicate eye area.

Sandrine has worked with Guinot for ten years and her job has changed a lot in that time with the brand increasingly focusing on the education side of the market. “On a day-to-day basis I visit stores and do seminars with therapists on new techniques to teach them how to do skin consultations. Recently, I have been training therapists on our new treatment Hydra Clean. Women should have a deep cleanse once a month to maintain beautiful skin. Our products are designed to be used in conjunction with salon treatments.”
