OPI Seen on the Runway at NYFW

OPI nail lacquer was the centre of attention at New York Fashion Week, working alongside prestigious fashion designers such as Jason Wu, Lauren Moffatt, Jenni Kayne, Houghton, Elizabeth & James, Holmes & Yang and Gerlan; as they launched their Spring & Summer collections for 2013.

Holmes & Yang Spring/Summer 2013

Nail art was a feature at this year’s New York Fashion Week Spring & Summer 2013, with many of the designers opting for unique nails, from pop art and brightly coloured tips to nude nails, nails were most definitely a feature at New York Fashion Week.

OPI joined designer Lauren Moffatt where the models wore two coats OPI’s Don't Touch My Tutu as the base combined with decorative tips. Half of the models’ nails highlighted a pop of diagonal colour using the latest Summer tangerine shade, A Roll in the Hague; whilst the other half were polished with a unique diagonal created using one coat of OPI’s bright yellow, The "It" colour topped with one coat OPI’s new nude, Don't Talk Bach to Me. These orange-red and mustard yellow hues were featured prominently in Lauren Moffatt's line.

OPI also joined designer Jenni Kayne as she selected a sheer white base, OPI’s Don’t Touch My Tutu combined with bright yellow tips, OPI’s Need Sunglasses?

OPI joined designers Mary-Kate and Ashley Olsen for the Elizabeth & James Spring/Summer 2013 collection. Elizabeth & James models wore the classic, sheer OPI Bubble Bath on both fingers and toes to complement the neutrals, oranges, jewel tones and beautiful brocade fabrics featured on the runway.

Whilst her divorce papers are being processed, OPI joined designer Katie Holmes and Jeanne Yang for their first ever New York Fashion Week showing of Holmes & Yang. Holmes & Yang went for statement nails, with the models wearing OPI’s classic nude, Samoan Sand on fingers and toes, whilst their nails were accented with asymmetrical French tips – some models wearing OPI nail lacquer in Black Onyx, others polished-off with OPI’s classic Big Apple Red.

Gerlan Spring/Summer 2013

OPI walked the runway with designer Katharine Polk, for the Houghton showing, featuring OPI’s newest 18ct Gold Leaf Top Coat – Man With the Golden Gun. Models wore one coat of OPI’s foundation nude, Don't Pretzel My Buttons on nails and toes, topped generously coat of the limited edition The Man with the Golden Gun 18k gold top coat. Packed with glittering golden flecks, this top coat added multidimensional shine to models' hands and feet. The Man with the Golden Gun will be available worldwide in October.

OPI joined designer Jason Wu  for his Spring/Summer 2013 New York Fashion Week runway show. Models wore OPI’s Suzi Skis in the Pyrenees on nails. This deep blue-grey hue complemented Jason's black, white and dark blue fashions, and added a pop of colour against bright pink dresses. Toes were kept neutral with OPI’s classic nude Samoan Sand.

On the heels of OPI’s Vintage Minnie Mouse being launched in July, OPI joined designer Gerlan in showing Minnie some love on the runway at New York Fashion Week. Gerlan Jeans teamed up with Disney to debut a 14-piece Minnie Mouse collection to open the show, with models wearing revamped Minnie looks from head-to-toe. Models wore four different shades of OPI to complement Gerlan’s designs, including No Room for the Blues, Fly, Need Sunglasses? and If You Moust, You Moust (from OPI’s Vintage Minnie Mouse range). Braided pigtail buns in similarly bright colours were worn high for a mouse ears effect. The rest of Gerlan’s collection focused on “Gerl Power;” with models wearing metallic Dr. Martens combat boots and OPI’s DS Radiance to add to the pop art, punk vibe.
