Minx celebrate Halloween at the Voodoo Music Festival

The Minx team slithered down to New Orleans this Halloween weekend to hang with the bands at the Voodoo Music Festival, a 3-day Music and Arts festival featuring over 100 Rock, R&B and Jazz bands from around the world. Among the headliners at the event were Soundgarden, Blink 182, Snoop Dogg, Fatboy Slim and Girltalk.

Minx set up in the Artist compound backstage and offered to put special designs on the bands and artists to match their costumes and stagewear. Needless to say, once word got out the Minx tent became a hot-spot for those who wanted their fingers to stand out as they danced up and down the frets, hit electric guitar licks or wrapped around the microphone.

New Orleans-based Minxers Chelette Smith and Amber Muse joined Minx co-founder Janice Jordan at the event, bringing nail fashion to the musicians on the scene. Both nail stylists had completed Advanced Level 1 Minx training at the 2010 Orlando tradeshow and had previously lent their Minx talents to the Oxygen Network for the Bad Girls Club season 7 filming in New Orleans last spring.

Janice loved every second of the festival and summed up the experience by saying “Our favorite quote of the day came from one of the members of the Japanese cult fave band Peelander Zee. When we asked her what instrument she played she said, ‘I don’t really play an instrument… I’m mostly just screaming!’"

Another highlight was the improvised 30 member marching band, the Noisician Coalition, that marches around with self-made instruments making sounds you really have to hear to believe.

Minx used Professional patterns ranging from currently available designs to special Halloween Minx to a few delightful custom coatings that were brewed up specially for the event.
