Calla and Minx Nails at New York Fashion Week

Paris-based brand Calla presented the Autumn/Winter 2012 line in New York on February 11, 2012 at Milk Studios, utilizing Minx nail fashion to achieve a complete ensemble right down to the fingertips.

Calla Haynes, the designer of the high-end womens wear brand, initially heard about the expert nail stylists at Nail Taxi from another design house. She decided to contact the owner, Cinnamon Bowser, to ask if she would be interested in providing a nail stylist team for the show.

“I was very pleased to work with Calla, and when she mentioned that her brand has a strong focus on prints and that she wanted to match the fabrics in her collection with the nails, I immediately thought of Janice Jordan, the co-founder of Minx solid nail coatings,” said Cinnamon. “Calla sent me colour and fabric swatches, so I forwarded these along to Janice and she created three custom nail coatings for the collection that looked just amazing,” Cinnamon explained.

The sample swatches ranged from light pink/coral to a metallic copper color to a graphic black/white element, and the custom Minx designs reflected these swatches perfectly.

Cinnamon and her team of Emily Ryan and Janee Baldwin applied the custom Minx to 18 models.
