AHFA Makeup Artist of the Year winner announced

The winner of the Australian Hair Fashion Awards (AHFA) Bodyography Makeup Artist of the Year award was announced at the AHFA gala dinner on Monday, March 29, at Sydney Town Hall.

Verity Griffiths, from NSW (whose work is pictured, left), was selected by an expert panel of judges which included Bodyography US creative director, Nicole Krakowski, Bodyography USA CEO David Leib, Miss Universe Australia, Rachael Finch and Sydney fashion designer, Bowie. The prize includes being flown to LA to work with the Bodyography creative director and to visit the Bodyography LAB in LA.

This is the second consecutive year that Bodyography Professional Cosmetics has sponsored the award.

Bodyography Director, Rob Tamburro (pictured with finalist, Aleisha Cowan), said:

“On behalf of Bodyography, a big congratulations to all the finalists for such amazing work. We hope to see you in the running next year as we build this award to be the biggest makeup award on offer in Australia.”

Bodyography itself received an award, taking out honours for Importer of the Year.

Tamburro said: “It was an amazing achievement for a company 18 months old, having been involved in so many shoots, shows and celebrity events. Only 12 months ago, I recall visiting the awards and not knowing many people within the industry, I felt overwhelmed and overshadowed. This year, arriving at the awards, it was amazing to see how many people we have worked with over the past 12 months and the credits we received from people accepting awards for their category. From Bodyography, congratulations to all the winners and thank you for making Bodyography a part of your journey. To the Bodyography Artistic Team, the Importer of the Year award would not have been possible without the help of everyone involved with Bodyography, from staff, freelance artists, educators and artists – thank you.”
