Brief description of your industry experience?

I have had 25 years in the beauty industry- primarily in training and development. I was the assistant principal of a skincare College for 8 years involved in all aspects of training, development, curriculum writing and enrolment. I have owned and managed my own day spa in the Hunter Valley for 9 years concentrating on business systems and staff training. From there I went into a consultancy role in product development and research. I was a senior teacher at TAFE for 4 years and developed various specialised programs and taught a range of units.

What’s been the highlight so far in your role as educator?

The opportunity to contribute to an educational team, to highly perform across superior multi-disciplinary environments and to develop and motivate the team to produce outcome-focused results for our franchisees

What have you learnt in the last 6 months?

To juggle many balls in the air at one time! I love the challenges and diversity of the role and strongly believe that all people desire to learn and develop if provided with a supportive and engaging situation

Did you face any challenges adapting from TAFE teacher to Ella Baché educator? How did you overcome them?

A class room situation is completely different from that of a National Training role. I love to build rapport with stakeholders because it emphasises my ability to achieve positive results in diverse environments. I’m enjoying the flexibility that the job offers and love being able to use my knowledge of skin biology, anatomy and physiology and wellness to benefit and enhance the success of our franchisees

What are some of your future plans in terms of education? How do you wish to improve/transform it?

To further offer Nationally Accredited training across a wide range of areas. This will provide our network of therapists continued educational opportunities and to be the most highly educated and accredited therapists in the beauty industry. This will enable our therapists to have the knowledge and experience for continued success across a wide range of treatments.
