Australia Galaxy Pageants follows the footsteps of Miss Universe – the international contest was founded in 1988 and takes place annually in Australia, Bahamas, Canada, Colorado, Illinois, Michigan, Midwest, Pennsylvania, Puerto Rico, Texas and the UK. The Australian division crowns two winners annually: Miss Galaxy Australia and Miss Teen Galaxy Australia.

The international contest emphasises beauty, style, and cultural appreciation and is a personal development opportunity for women of all nations.

Ebony & Ivory founder Joan Dellavalle is passionate about instilling confidence in young women, so naturally, Joan jumped at the opportunity to partner with this national event.

As part of the partnership, Joan hosted two hair and beauty workshops for the Western Australian hopefuls in her salon on Barrack Street. The workshops featured exclusive hair and makeup tips and techniques to prepare the girls for the Western Australian finals.

“There’s definitely something in the water in Perth because the 2013 Miss Teen Galaxy Australia and Miss Galaxy Australia winners, Courtney-Jade Tester and Jemma-Ashley Souren were both from Western Australia,” said Joan.
