The imaginative worlds of beauty and art combine for this year’s Sydney International Spa and Beauty Expo 2013. Collaborating with one of Australia’s unique talents, the Expo is thrilled to announce its 2013 hero image has been created by leading artistic illustrator, Sarah Hankinson.
Taking place, over Sunday 25 and Monday 26 August 2013, the Sydney International Spa & Beauty Expo is Australia’s largest spa and beauty event.
On hearing her work was chosen as the event’s hero image, Sarah said, “It was such a huge honour to be invited to illustrate for such an iconic industry event. I believe beauty on the inside or out is harmonious, and it makes you feel so special being around it, which I tried to express though my vision for the show”.
Beginning her artistic career after studying illustrations in 2004, Sarah’s works have gone on to appear in publications including Elle, Madison, Yen and Cleo magazines. Citing inspiration from the spheres of fashion, beauty and textiles, her work showcases a delicate balance of light and dark, thick and thin and a play of broken lines and bold colour that have made her renowned for forming provocative illustrations that exemplify elegance.
Merging a distinctive combination of traditional and mixed media techniques, Sarah’s artistic vision for this year’s show serves to personify the gentle art and power of inner and outer beauty and its interrelated relationship that surrounds each Expo.
Sydney International Spa & Beauty Expo Event Director, Julia Erben says, “Given professionals in the spa and beauty industries harness the power of creating beauty every day, we could not be more thrilled to have the 2013 Sydney International Spa & Beauty Expo represented by such a stunning visual.”
