Mesoestetic Pharma Group Receive Excellence Award

Pharmaceutical manufacturers in dermatology, Mesoestetic Pharma Group received the Entrepreneurial Excellence 2014 award from Dirigentes Magazine in the category of R&D+i.

Each year Spanish business publication, Dirigentes Magazine recognises world-class companies with its Entrepreneurial Excellence Awards. This year, in its 20th edition, the magazine recognised Mesoesetetic Pharma Group’s commitment to research as a driving force of innovation.

“At mesoestetic, research is the driving force of innovation. That’s why we develop the majority of our large laboratory projects on-site, right at home,” says CEO and founder of Mesoestetic Pharma Group, Joan Carles Font.

The newly-awarded company has three production lines including a biotechnology unit and medical monitoring and follow-up unit located near Barcelona.

Implemented in late 2012, the biotechnology unit performs tests in cell cultures using techniques in molecular biology to find new active ingredients and combinations of ingredients of greater efficacy.

“The two main lines of research of the biotechnology unit are ageing and depigmentation. Our daily commitment is to use innovation to develop and perfect treatments in aesthetic medicine and cosmetics that offer the highest quality and efficacy,” explains Carles Font.

In addition to the work carried out internally, the laboratory’s biotechnology unit collaborates with research centres, universities and scientific groups in order to constantly position itself at the forefront of the advances in the field of cosmetic science.

With a driving motivator being its commitment to continued innovation, the group’s laboratory invests 40 per cent of its profits into research and development every year.

The company spent 23 million euros building new headquarters equipped with the latest technology and is currently among the leading pharmaceutical laboratories in Europe.

In Spain, Mesoestetic Pharma Group is one of the few pharmaceutical laboratories qualified to manufacture medical products for intradermal administration aimed at performing mesotherapy treatments for aesthetic purposes.
