Australian skincare company, The Jojoba Company is the only Australian brand participating in this year’s Discover Beauty at Cosmoprof North America in July.
Now in its fourth year, Discover Beauty section showcases selected brands just being launched to the US market alongside international brands established abroad but not yet available in the US. One-on-one exploratory meetings are privately held between brand creators, specialty retailers and spa directors, but show visitors can also discover the brands at their stands.
Chris Black from the Jojoba Company said the company’s products have found ready acceptance in the Australian and North Asian markets since their launch in August 2009 and is confident that the US market will be receptive.
“We are confident the sophisticated natural look and feel of our products with our purpose designed packaging have created a unique market position within an otherwise crowded sector. Pure cold pressed jojoba from our own Australian plantations is at the core of each and every product in our range; the fact that we own and control the products from the plantation to the pack has significant appeal in all markets,” Black said.
“People may see us as overconfident, taking jojoba back to where it originated and into such a huge market but we know we are the first to do this – when you have a new concept it is vital to claim ownership of the segment fast. We have every confidence US buyers at Discover Beauty will see that we have created a sophisticated brand where the products exceed consumer expectations – this is the key to sustainability in this market.”
