MBFWA: CND for Jason Brunsdon

Taking inspiration from the femme fatales of mid-century, cinematic couture – the Jayson Brunsdon show shimmered with silver and pearlescent white. Marking his ten year anniversary, CND and Jayson Brunsdon teamed up to create an elegant and sexy palette of monochromes.

The collection featured an air of seductive romance through sweeping trains, an abundance of silk and shy metallics. The S/S 13/14 Jayson Brunsdon woman was fiercely elegant and played with her shapes and shades.

The show displayed clothes in contrasting layers: juxtaposing the colours and texture, because the Jayson Brundson woman is never a singular persona.

Connecting strongly to the essence of this collection, CND created a nail look that combines the feminine shade pearl with the luxe of silver. The nail was medium length with the top adjusted to a soft square shape. The look, headed by Cherie Pollard, CND Head Nail Stylist, was a pearlescent white mixed with a reflective silver tip.

“Jayson was after some graphic couture – staying away from art. We took inspiration from this and created an ice combination with a pearlised white that contrasted the high sparkle of cool tones,” said Cherie.

“For this look we used CND’s latest innovation to be released at the end of April,” said Cherie, “we used the Studio White shade from this collection and mixed it with CND Titanium Pearl Addictive.”

Inspired by graphic couture and cool hues of the femme fatale persona, the use of the limited edition CND Addictive Shimmering Silver Glitter was the key to a cool palette. “The silver keeps it in the cool palette and gives it a reflective sheen, it catches all the light on the runway as the girls strut down,” said Cherie.

Cool, sexy, and extremely wearable – this look can be easily translated in to the everyday. According to Cherie, “you can use the silver on just one nail and paint the rest white to achieve a subtle effect that still retains a hint of catwalk – it becomes wearable couture art”.
